Monitoring and Identifying Bumblebees for Beginners

This workshop will introduce you to some of Ireland’s native bumblebee species. We will a background to bumblebee biology and the key features that help you tell different species apart. Depending on the weather, we will then head outdoors for guided fieldwork where you will try out identification keys and practice monitoring skills with support from the workshop lead. It will be a relaxed and hands-on session, designed to build your confidence in spotting and recording bumblebees.

Please come prepared with suitable outdoor clothing and comfortable walking footwear, as we will be spending time outside in varying weather conditions.
