Monitoring and Identifying Butterflies for Beginners
Share this event
This workshop will introduce you to some of Ireland’s native butterfly species. We will start with a background to butterfly biology and the key features that help you tell different species apart. Depending on the weather, we will then head outdoors for guided fieldwork where you will try out identification keys and practice monitoring skills, including using nets as part of the survey process, all with support from the workshop lead. It will be a relaxed and hands-on session, designed to build your confidence in spotting and recording butterflies.
