Morning with Moths
Join us this Insect Week, for an introduction to the diversity of Irish moths. Held in conjunction with Cork City Council, we will explore the remarkable variety of moths found in Ireland and highlight their importance as a key component of healthy ecosystems, where they play vital roles as pollinators and as part of the wider food web.
During this morning event, participants will have the opportunity to examine moths that were trapped overnight, learn how they are identified, and discover which species occur in the local area before they are released back into the habitats where they were found. The moth trapping associated with this event is carried out under licence from the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
Suitable for all ages and particularly well suited to families.
