Welcome to the National Drama’s 'Empowering Drama Teachers' Conference 2025!

Tuesday 15th April to Thursday 17th April 2025 at Royal Holloway, University of London.

We are delighted to have partnered with the Department of Drama, Theatre, and Dance at Royal Holloway, University of London. The conference is designed to empower Drama teachers with ideas, techniques and resources to enhance their teaching practice. The conference aims are:

• To empower Drama teachers to value their work and recognise their authentic qualities as artists, teachers and facilitators; [teacher-artist]
• To explore how Drama and theatre strategies empower children, teachers and schools [Drama curriculum];
• To establish how conference views the priorities for Drama and Theatre ‘empowerment’ both now and in the future.

Conference content:

• Keynote speeches - including renowned theatre practitioner Katie Mitchell
• Practical workshops with options for all e.g. ECTs, solo depts, non-drama specialists, experienced drama teachers
• Round table discussions
• Options to explore SEND Drama, Drama in Colour, Assessment in Drama, Oracy
• Live performances - both watching ... and creating our own
• Embracing the concept of 'Teacher Artist'.

Conference Fees: 

Member: £225.00; Non Member £255 (includes ND membership for one year). 
Day Rate: Member: £140; Non-Member £155.
