Description
Letters to the Sea - Nature Writing Walk
Come along to our Letters to the Sea creative writing walk and enjoy some time dedicated to connecting with Plymouth Sound National Marine Park, and enjoying creative writing. Writing a letter is an opportunity to bring your care, concerns and fears to the page and create a loving gesture towards the natural world. How does water appear in your memories, your imagination, your hopes for the future? If you could send a letter to the sea, to a river or a stream, what would it say?
We'll embark on a playful and curious walk together, exploring the vast and mysterious world of waterways through the power of words. Led by Creative Writing Lecturer, Poet and Plymouth Laureate of Words, Dr Rosemarie Corlett, we will work through some water-related object prompts, enjoy some inspiring readings and focus on the craft of letter writing. Suitable for complete beginners, experienced writers, nature lovers and those who just love being near the water. The focus will be on self-expression, the pleasure of experimenting with language, and meeting and sharing creative writing with others.
