Join the NMP Coastal Ranger Team for a gentle stroll along the banks of Ernesettle Creek (Tamerton Lake) looking for various birdlife that call the creek home, and particularly for some of the winter visitors that migrate to this area to feed and roost.

This is a beautiful area recognised and protected for the types of bird species that live and breed in the coast and wetlands (Little Egret/ Avocet). The extensive mudflats and saltmarsh habitats present in this area are important feeding and roosting grounds for both species as well as other waders and wildfowl. Sightings may include: Curlew, Dunlin, Redshank, Greenshank, Little Egret, as well as various wildfowl and woodland birds. It will also be a great opportunity to talk to the ranger team about the National Marine Park and what opportunities are available to the area.

Equipment to bring: Warm clothing, Waterproof Jacket, suitable footwear (the path could be wet and muddy), a drink, a snack, binoculars (if you have them).

Distance: We will be stationed along the Creek Causeway mostly, so suitable for restricted mobility, we may walk up to the railway bridge to look further out towards the river Tamar. Under 1km.

Location: Meet by the Ernesettle Creek Mill Pond Causeway, PL5 2QJ. What3Words: myself.risk.dock

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided after the walk and we will have a few pairs of binoculars to pass around.

Please note: this event is subject to a 24 hour cancellation period in bad weather conditions.
