It is with all the joys, sorrows, and challenges of the present day in mind that we invite your to join us in a special movement gathering. Let's allow the changing season to help us remember the natural cycles of life, honoring grief and struggle while simultaneously welcoming life and the coming of spring.
It’s time for your heart to awaken from the dark winter, and embrace the spring energy of renewal. The beginning of February (Feb 1-2) has long been celebrated in Ireland as the festival of Imbolc and the feast day of Brigid. During this time we honor the sacred regenerative cycles of nature, celebrate the stirring of new life to come, and release the old to create space for new growth. Connecting deeply with our own bodies allows us to access the powerful nature we hold within and understand ourselves in relation to the planet and collective journey.
Please join us in a special ritual honoring of Imbolc featuring:
* Guided reflection of the themes of regeneration, rebirth, the innate healing cycles of nature
* An intentional ritual container to welcome the changing season and foster sense of community
* Exercises to deepen connection with your own body and inner resilience
* Full DANCEmandala movement meditation practice
* Full Authentic Movement practice
* Artistic integration of your experience
About the Practices:
What is DANCEmandala? DANCEmandala is a free-form movement meditation practice designed to awaken the body, emotion, heart, spirit, and universal consciousness. Carefully curated music and gentle verbal guidance invite you to tune-in to the natural wisdom of the body and embark on an inward journey, cultivating awareness, authentic expression, and personal insight.
What is Authentic Movement? Authentic Movement is a specific body-based creative embodiment practice rooted in Jungian Depth Psychology and Dance/Movement Therapy. It focuses on the relationship between Mover and Witness and utilizes art-making and journaling to integrate the messages of the unconscious. Authentic Movement is ideally suited to explore our Shadow and heal the wounded and stuck places in our psyche, thus allowing for a more meaningful and authentic relationship to ourselves and others.
These practices woven together in one intentional setting offer an opportunity for a deep dive into embodiment, unconsciousness wisdom, and the transformational power of movement.
Space will be limited to maintain a meaningful, intimate group environment.

A Note on Cultural Appropriation and Respect for Irish Culture:
This event is one of four yearly workshops designed to celebrate, through movement and creativity, the 4 Irish fire festivals -- times which mark important shifts in the relationship between people and land: Imbolc, Beltaine, Lughnasadh, and Samhain. These four festivals have all been co-opted by Neopagan/Wiccan traditions. From Francesca's position as a student of Irish spirituality and culture, and Lauren's position as a descendant of Irish immigrants, we acknowledges the widespread misappropriation of Irish language, mythology, spirituality, and culture--a culture which, despite its racial whiteness, has been systematically oppressed by British colonialism, romanticized or vilified, and economically exploited. In addition to continuing to pursue education in this direction, part of the profits from these events will be donated to VOICE Ireland and Crann.
