Community Farm Chew Magna, BS40 8SZ
Description
Are you a practitioner working in Nature and Health? Part of the emerging Green Social Prescribing sector and part of the Healthier with Nature community. Are you looking for a network of professionals and practitioners in Green Care, Ecotherapy, Nature and Health? Or are you wondering how you can develop and grow a career in this emerging sector? Are you an academic interested in research, evaluations or a project lead that is wanting to connect with practitioners and other projects in the West of England? Then come along to our next Practitioners Network meeting in person on the 21st of March 2-4.30pm at the Community Farm near Chew Magna.
We will have a focus on working with the health and wellbeing of young people in natural settings and how the sector can respond to the challenges and opportunities that currently exist. We will also have updates from other groups and discussions on the network as a whole and emerging sector locally and nationally.
NHP has been established for 4 years and we are now moving into the next phase of development and we will share some of this as part of this meeting. As always, there will time for catching up, networking, for discussions on collaborations and emerging opportunities, and an update from important networks and relevant organisations.
The field of Nature and Health is expanding rapidly across the UK with a strong and growing evidence base and ever more evalutaions and models of practice. We stand for the benefits of the natural environment for our health and wellbeing and also in supporting the natural world. We explore emerging nature based approaches and a developing service provision across the UK. To support this growing movement in the West of England, the Network aims to provide space for a wide range of practitioners, project leads, academics working across Green Care, Eco-Therapy and other nature-based health and wellbeing services within statutory services and within VCSE sector.
The Network aims include
Access to peer reflection, networking, support, learning and CPD;
Establishing some of the key standards and quality assurance needed for partners, funders, commissioners, participants and practitioners to feel that they are offering a safe, effective and professional service;
Building connections between practitioners, prescribers and funders; and
Collaboration with the WENP Nature and Health Strategy Group and Healthier With Nature (Green Social Prescribing in Bristol area ICB) regarding local and national initiatives, policy and research.
