An overview of current research, including the following:
- Anatomy of the mouth and its relation to a well-fitting bit
- Identifying a correctly fitting bridle
- Tell-tale musculoskeletal and postural signs of badly fitting bits/ bridles
- The biomechanics of bitting- such as laterality in rein contact
Amy has a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Physiotherapy and is currently completing an MSc in Equine Performance, Health and Welfare. She has worked with everyone from happy hackers to International dressage riders and promotes a ‘one team’ approach to horse welfare.
Amy is one of the founding Directors of The Association of Professional Bit and Bridle Fitters. The organisation was formed to provide a Gold Standard fitter directory and has been featured in Horse and Rider, Horses and People and Intelligent Horsemanship Magazines, as well as being seen at the Horses Inside Out Conference 2023. www.APBBF.org
