The Lab – tickets now at £30 + VAT.
Hello, hello, hello…
The Lab is opening its doors again.
Join us to experiment with something new and to play with not-knowing on Friday, February 9.
But what is the Lab though?
Well, it's different every time. Fundamentally, the Lab is a great opportunity to practice holding uncertain spaces, to gently explore your edges, to play with creativity, and to simply have fun. It's a kind of not-for-profit human playground where people lead 'experiments' and participate in what other people offer. Think of it as a safe and welcoming haven for creative expression and failing happy.
What we end up doing will depend on the experiments people bring. There are three simple rules here. If you bring something for the group to try out, it should be something: 1) You've not tried before, 2) Might work, or might not, 3) Is in service of 'enlivening human beings'. Experiments tend to last for between 5 and 15 minutes, so there's plenty of space to try stuff out.
That’s it.
But is the Lab for me?
Totally! The spirit of the Lab is that the people who show up are exactly the people who are meant to show up. So if it all sounds even vaguely appealing, come and join us :)
You can bring something to try out or just take part in the experiments. If you want to lead an experiment, you can either think it up beforehand or invent one ‘live’ in the moment.
Whatever we end up doing, hosts Neil Baker and Natasha Freedman will be on hand to make you feel welcome.
See you there?
Please note: The Arts Theatre is lovely venue, but our space is not fully accessible. It's up a few floors and there's no lift. Apologies if this means you can't take part this time. We'll be moving to a more accessible space as soon as we can.
