Join Neil Zeller and Chris Fisher on a day trip safari up and over the Highwood Pass, with the White Tailed Ptarmigan as our main target subject!

We'll meet at Flames Community Arenas for a 6:30am departure to give us ample opportunity to photograph sunrise in the foothills. We'll stop for breakfast in Black Diamond before heading over to Longview to start our journey up and over the Highwood Pass. We'll stop along hte way for animal and scenic opportunities, while targeting a 7:00pm return ( Sunset is 4:50pm) to FCA.

Included in this day is your breakfast (the BEST A&W in Alberta, at Black Diamond), and a picnic lunch that we'll prepare and have along with us. As always, modern van transportation and light snacks are incuded, along with Chris and Neil providing advice, expertise, tips and tricks to making the best photos along the way.

It's recommended to be fully equipped in your best winter gear, full winter boots, mitts, and toque. There will be LOTS of snow to manage. It's best to have lens at least 400mm in length, the longer the better. Also, your other lenses, as we never know what's going to present itself toy us. Bring your tripod, as we'll be efforting dawn and dusk scenes!
