The inaugural NessBookFest took place in November 2016 and returned the following year with a taster day at Inverness Town House on 9th September, followed by the main festival in October 2017, with an extensive programme of performances by both local and visiting authors.
NessBookFest is organised and run by the community, for the community. As a matter of principle, our events are free to attend and held in accessible, central locations throughout the city, to encourage the regular book festival demographic to attend and reach those who have never been to a book festival before. Our guest authors write in various genres for all age groups, offering an appealing and diverse programme for audiences.
This year we are running a slightly more bijou festival in terms of numbers of events, but the quality of our guests is still up there with the best!
Have a look at our events and get your weekend planned now! All of our events are free thanks to our wonderful sponsors - The Scottish Book Trust and the good people at Inverness Paving!
We also are able to bring these FREE events to you every year thanks to the generous donations given by YOU when buying your tickets or popped into our donation buckets. Please consider making a donation if you're able to and we'll promise to put the cash to good use organising great events throughout the year!
