Beginners Crochet: Working in Rows

Fri 7 Aug 2026 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM BST Nest Creative Spaces, PH10 6ND

Tutors: Tracie Dick & Sue Binns for Nest Creative Spaces

This friendly workshop is designed for complete beginners or anyone wanting to build confidence with the basics. You'll learn how to hold your crochet hook and yarn, create a foundation chain, and work simple crochet stitches in rows to make a small sample piece.

This month we will, focus on working in rows, a fundamental crochet skill and forms the basis of many projects, from scarves and blankets to garments and home accessories. Throughout the session, you'll receive step-by-step guidance and plenty of support as you practise maintaining even stitches and turning your work.

We’ll be using a selection of donated and reclaimed yarns where possible, demonstrating how crafting can be both creative and environmentally friendly by giving materials a second life and reducing waste.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have a good understanding of the essential techniques needed to continue your crochet journey and the confidence to practise at home.

All materials are provided, with light refreshments

If you find you cannot make it, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the space to someone else. Thank you.

The cost of this event is subsidised thanks to the sales made in our remnant shop, keeping it affordable for all in our community.

Nest is an inclusive organisation and everyone is welcome. If you have any additional needs or require additional support during the workshop please contact us in advance of your booking so we can make sure we are able to provide it.
