This event is free to attend as it has been funded by the PKC Fairer Communities Fund.
Come to a friendly intro evening session to learn about sewing machine functions and how they look on your machine, including changing needles and feet, threading, backstitching, stitch length, tension and zigzag stitches.
Bring along your machine! All other supplies are available at Nest, including tea, coffee and biscuits. The session is aimed at inexperienced sewers, or anyone flummoxed by their machine.
We’ll guide you through understanding the main parts of your machine, troubleshooting common issues, and practising basic stitches in a friendly, supportive environment. By the end of the session, you’ll feel more comfortable setting up your machine at home and ready to begin simple sewing projects.
A great first step into sewing while making the most of the machine you already have.
If you find you cannot make it, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the space to someone else. Thank you.
Nest is an inclusive organisation and everyone is welcome. If you have any additional needs or require additional support during the workshop please contact us in advance of your booking so we can make sure we are able to provide it.
