Sewing Repairs for Beginners

Sun 28 Jun 2026 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM BST Nest Creative Spaces, PH10 6ND

This event is free to attend as it has been funded by the PKC Fairer Communities Fund.

Come to this friendly session to learn how to do basic repairs to keep your clothes going for longer and out of landfill. We’ll start with hand sewing repairs to holes or rips (and replace buttons), and progress to some simple techniques on sewing machines.

This session will be supportive and paced for absolute beginner sewers and people who’ve never touched a sewing machine before.

Fix the wear and tear, save money, keep your favourite clothes longer, and pick up a new hobby.

Bring items you’d like to repair if you fancy – you might fix them on the day, but if not you’ll leave with the knowledge of how to tackle them, or you can just come along to learn and practise techniques.

All sewing supplies and sewing machines supplied, plus tea and biscuits.

If you find you cannot make it, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the space to someone else. Thank you.

Nest is an inclusive organisation and everyone is welcome. If you have any additional needs or require additional support during the workshop please contact us in advance of your booking so we can make sure we are able to provide it.
