Fool's Night - A Benefit for Netpol
Join Mark Thomas, Jeff Innocent, Esther Manito, Athena Kugblenu and Imran Yusef for an evening of "serious disruption" to raise funds Netpol
On Fool's Night 2026, Mark Thomas has brought together a fantastic line-up of comedy talent to help raise money for Netpol, whose work involves defending freedom to dissent and protest rights from police and state repression.
Why are we raising funds?
Our right to protest in England, Wales and Scotland has been under constant attack for the last five years. Repression is not just about restrictions on demonstrations, but also encompasses surveillance and bans on campaign groups, the policing of chants and slogans and more severe consequences for offences like obstruction or criminal damage when carried out for political reasons. Since 2009, the Network for Police Monitoring (Netpol) has been supporting movements to resist oppressive policing through legal advice, research, network-building and campaigning. All this work has been undertaken with limited funds and a staff team of only three part-time organisers.
