About the Event
NEUROMANCERS is a peer-led organisation providing autonomous, abolitionist, and accessible mental health care for and by the neurodivergent+ community.
NEUROMANCERS was founded in 2021 by then-fifteen-year-old Aiyana Goodfellow as a much-needed politicised space, providing vital and varied peer support groups, mini-grants, and direct aid. We are celebrating three incredible years of organising AND gearing up for the next exciting chapter of our work with our first ever in-person event...NEUROMANCERS Day!
TO NEUROMANCE MEANS TO 'FALL IN LOVE WITH DIVERGENCE'.
This is a day for those who diverge, who dream, who declare themselves in a world that doesn't always welcome us. This is a practice in Peer Solidarity as we explore what is means to be neurodivergent+ and create autonomous, abolitionist, and accessible mental health care. Your attendance and donations will help fund and sustain NEUROMANCERS through another year.

Q&A
Why are you raising funds?
NEUROMANCERS are raising funds to better sustain our work through 2025 (our fourth year!!). All funding goes towards our mission to create peer-led alternatives to mainstream mental healthcare, including more support spaces, events, and direct aid. In a capitalist society, these programs unfortunately need money to sustain: community-based (rather than grant-based) funding allows us to be even more responsive to our collective needs. We appreciate your support and solidarity.
Do I need to book a ticket?
Yes! Please make sure you have a screenshot or copy of your ticket barcode to present on the door. If you are under 18 and looking to book, or have any questions about tickets, please email hello@neuromancers.org.uk.
Can I get a ticket on the day?
The only way to guarantee your spot is to book. If we reach ticket capacity online, we may not be able to sell tickets and admit people on the door.
Will you have stalls?
Yes! If you are a neurodivergent+ (or neurodvergent-allied) artist, organisation, community group, etc. please apply to have a stall before January 30th 2025.
Can I speak at the event?
We will have an Open Mic session during NEUROMANCERS Day!, so if you are neurodivergent+ and want to share a speech, poem, letter, or piece of art relevant to the themes of the event, please apply to speak before January 30th 2025.
Do I have to be neurodivergent+ to attend?
This will be a neurodivergent+ centred space, but everyone is welcome!
How can I be involved?
You can help make NEUROMANCERS Day! happen by:
- Helping us get air purifiers for the event!
- Being an event steward!
- Provide BSL translation!
If you can do any of the above please get in touch by emailing hello@neuromancers.org.uk.
If you want to be more involved in NEUROMANCERS general efforts, apply to be a volunteer.
What if I can't come?
If you are unfortunately not free on the 22nd of February, please do share this event with others: the more successful NEUROMANCERS Day! is, the more likely we'll run something similar again.
NEUROMANCERS has primarily been a digitally based organisation. This means there will be online events and programming coming up. You can help ensure this by donating towards our efforts!
Access Information
Covid: As a Disabled led organisation, NEUROMANCERS strives to be as inclusive and covid-cautious as possible. We recognise that significant gatherings always carry transmission risk and will be taking straightforward precautions to ensure our event is as safe as possible.
Every attendee is encouraged to take a Covid test before arriving at the event and avoid attending if you have symptoms. Every attendee is encouraged to wear masks. Those who are not able or less able to mask will have a label to signify their exemption. Free masks and information on covid transmission will be available at the event due to the support of Masks for London.
Thanks to support from the community, we have also secured an air purifier for the event. You can support the overall accessibility of this event by registering or donating.
Wheelchairs: The venue is step-free and wheelchair accessible, including a wheelchair accessible toilet. Please let us know when booking if you will be using a wheelchair.
Seating: There will be lots of seating available.
Travel: The nearest Tube station is Wood Green (Piccadilly Line). The nearest Overground station is Alexandra Palace (Overground/Greater Northern). Neither of these stations are step-free. There is limited parking on the road and free parking at Morrison's which is a five minutes walk away. If you need any support in planning your journey to the venue, please reach out as soon as possible.
Cost: This event is a fundraiser for NEUROMANCERS activities. We offer our general tickets on a sliding-scale and there is a donation option for those who'd like to pass on a little bit extra. If you book early enough, you can get a ticket at the Early Bird rate! For cash payment options or to request a free sponsored ticket, please email hello@neuromancers.org.uk.
Food: The event will be held at Karamel N22. This venue and restaurant is 100% vegan and offers delicious, varied plant-based food. Please do buy something to eat to support the kitchen! NEUROMANCERS is an anti-speciesist organisation and as with all our events, no animal products should be brought, used, or consumed at the event. Please do not bring your own food or drink.
Guidelines: Please treat the space and other attendees with respect. We are an abolitionist, total liberationist organisation. Discriminatory behaviour is not welcome. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
Alcohol & Substances: Please note that the venue serves alcohol, therefore this unfortunately will not be a dry event. In the spirit of accessibility for those in recovery, we'd like to request that attendees avoid the use of substances, medication, and alcohol where possible and exercise general caution/thoughtfulness if doing so.

If you are under 18, we suggest attending with someone you feel supported by. If you are a young person planning to attend alone, please reach out ahead of time and we can pair you with an adult advocate/steward from NEUROMANCERS. Under 18s are eligible for a free ticket so please email hello@neuromancers.org.uk to redeem.
Topics: There may be discussion of sensitive and heavy topics. We will make an effort to warn the group before going into any detail, but we can't guarantee any potential triggers will be avoided.
Nonhumans: The venue welcomes all-animals: humans, dogs, parrots, and pigs alike. Please assess the suitability of this human-centred event before bringing any nonhuman companions.
Sound/Sensory: If at any point you are feeling overwhelmed or need a break, you can leave the main event space and go to a quiet area next door. You are encouraged to bring any sensory tools or toys for yourself and/or others. You are welcome to pop in and out of the main event space as needed!
Photography: Photos may be taken of the event by both NEUROMANCERS and other attendees. If you'd rather avoid this, please let us know!
Other: If you have any access needs that are not covered in this list, please get it touch by emailing hello@neuromancers.org.uk.
About NEUROMANCERS
NEUROMANCERS is a peer-led organisation providing autonomous, abolitionist, and accessible mental health care for and by the neurodivergent+ community.
To NEUROMANCE means to 'fall in love with divergence'.
The mainstream healthcare system fails our community by labelling neurodivergent+ people 'defective' and 'disordered'.
NEUROMANCERS seek to provide an alternative. Instead, we fall in love with divergence. Our traits are neither 'curses' nor 'superpowers'. We are simply people surviving a society that oppresses and excludes us in the best ways we know how.
NEUROMANCERS is here to support you - at whatever stage of the journey you are on - by providing autonomous, abolitionist, and accessible mental health care, by us and for us.
