About the Event

DATE: Saturday 27th September 2025
TIME: 6
:00 PM - 8:00 PM BST / 1:00 APM - 3:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM PT

Suicide prevention is not suicide safety.

Suicide safety centers agency, care, and dignity. Together, let us explore suicidality with curiosity, compassion, tenderness, and nuance.

Let's sit with it, talk about it, share our lived experiences (with care), dispel myths, fill in gaps, understand what's harmful, build on what's helpful, create a care plan, hold space, tend to ourselves, and more!

Let us remember our shared humanity & how to access it. Our only expectation of you is to have compassion for yourself & others.

About the Facilitator

Maureen is the proud author of My Fears Out Loud, her debut poetry collection.

She prefers to share her values and lived experience rather than her credentials, which you may inquire about.

Her movement is informed by her belief that all oppression - and therefore, all liberation - is connected. She invites us to bear witness to ourselves and the world at large to heal individually and collectively.

"No one is free unless all of us are free." - inspired by Fannie Lou Hamer.

Access Notes from the Facilitator:

Participants are encouraged to engage however they feel comfortable, as long as they remain respectful.

We ask that the mic remains muted when participants are not speaking. In order to make space for everyone who would like to participate (especially shy or reserved individuals), it would be helpful if participants "raise their hand" or drop their name in the chat if they'd like to speak. They're also encouraged to dialogue in the chat.

Additional resources will be sent after our gathering, but we are sharing this resource beforehand for anyone interested: bit.ly/CareWithConsent

About NEUROMANCERS

NEUROMANCERS is a peer-led organisation providing autonomous, abolitionist, and accessible mental health care for and by the neurodivergent+ community.

To NEUROMANCE means to 'fall in love with divergence'.

The mainstream healthcare system fails our community by labelling neurodivergent+ people 'defective' and 'disordered'.

NEUROMANCERS seek to provide an alternative. Instead, we fall in love with divergence. Our traits are neither 'curses' nor 'superpowers'. We are simply people surviving a society that oppresses and excludes us in the best ways we know how.

NEUROMANCERS is here to support you - at whatever stage of the journey you are on - by providing autonomous, abolitionist, and accessible mental health care, by us and for us.
