NACMS Family Concert (In collaboration with Ya Ya Mandarin Seeds)

This Family Concert is thoughtfully designed to introduce live classical music to children in a warm, relaxed, and welcoming environment, while creating a meaningful shared experience for parents and caregivers.

Rather than a traditional formal concert setting, the program features short musical selections, storytelling, live instrument demonstrations, and interactive moments, music instrument petting zoo, allowing children to listen, respond, and move naturally. Get up close to see and hear instruments such as the violin, viola, cello, clarinet, Chinese er-hu, and a special surprise to see a guest appearance with her instrument that you probably have never seen before! Young audiences are encouraged to engage with the music in a way that feels joyful and intuitive, fostering curiosity, imagination, and a positive first connection with live performance.

Presented by the New Asia Chamber Music Society (NACMS) in collaboration with Ya Ya Mandarin Seeds, this program uniquely integrates music, language, and storytelling in a family-friendly format. Through this interdisciplinary approach, the concert aims to spark early cultural awareness and inspire a lasting appreciation for music among young listeners and their families.

What to expect?

• 10:30 – 11:00 AM | Arrival & warm-up (flexible seating, informal interaction)

• 11:00 – 11:30 AM | Family Concert (approx. 30 minutes)

  • Instrument introductions and demonstrations

  • Short musical pieces

  • Story-led listening and interactive questions

• 11:30 – 11:45 AM | Interactive session / Q&A / children view instruments up close

• 11:45 – 12:00 PM | Social time, photos, and wrap-up

Children are not required to remain silent or seated throughout; natural reactions are welcome; no age limit.
