Newbridge Library, W12 W861
Description
For children from age 3 to 12 years.
Introducing sound massage as a complimentary therapeutic support for the wellbeing of children with additional needs and their families. Sound massage is first and foremost a holistic relaxation method.
In Sound Relaxation, body, mind and soul can let go of accumulated stress, worry and uncertainty and create a new, free, safe and stable base for developing self-healing powers.
Especially for children with additional needs this form of therapeutic practice is extremely beneficial as it leads to a state of deep relaxation. Stress related symptoms such as pain, limited mobility, sensitivity disorders, depressive states, fears, anxiety, physical tensions and neuromuscular blocks can be alleviated in this process.
In a playfully designed session, it will be demonstrated how parents can use singing bowls with their children. Therapeutic singing bowls are positioned on and around the body and are gently played to invite sound vibration into the body. We will explore sound through sound games, using our voice, singing, instruments like the gong, drums, percussion and chimes, sound massage and relaxation to the sounds of these wonderful instruments.
This is an interactive experience especially designed for children with additional needs & their families to enjoy the benefits of sound massage together in a playful way.
One ticket covers admission for one child and one adult.
