Lecture: Kitchens & Cooking in the 1920s
In anticipation of the 100th Anniversary of A Day in Old New Castle, join us for a look back at the modern kitchens and recipes of the 1920s!
Our speaker is Becky Diamond, a food writer, librarian, and research historian. Her most recent book, The Gilded Age Cookbook, blends Gilded Age details and celebrity stories with historic menus and recipes updated for modern kitchens.
A similar book focusing on the holidays, The Gilded Age Christmas Cookbook, is slated for a September 2025 launch. She is also the author of The Thousand Dollar Dinner and Mrs. Goodfellow: The Story of America’s First Cooking School.
This lecture is $5.00 for the general public and free to NCHS members. All attendees need an advance ticket. Seats are limited so get your tickets today!
