The Panel
Welcome by Rob Farquharson, Chief Executive Officer, Northeastern University London, followed by Ursula Smartt, Associate Professor Law, New College of the Humanities at Northeastern University London.
Judge Tan Ikram CBE Deputy Senior District Judge and Deputy Lead and Diversity and Community Relations Judge (Chief Magistrate, London). Hears extradition and terrorism cases; responsible inter alia for the Equal Treatment Courts Bench Book.
Katherine Sirrell JP Lay magistrate (Justice of the Peace) on the Central London Bench. ‘Day job’ is in the Strategy Planning and Budgets Department of HM Treasury.
Alexia Fetherstonhaugh JP Magistrates’ Leadership Executive and a member of the diversity strategy team of HM Courts Service, London.
Dr Kasim Randeree JP Lay magistrate on the Birmingham Bench. 'Day job' as Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs at Northeastern University London.
Conference Chair Dippy Kharaud JP: London’s Diversity and Community Relations Magistrate.
You do not have to be legally qualified. Everyone over the age of 18 is eligible. You must be willing to take the Oath of Allegiance but do not need to be a British national.
