New Illinois: Second Constitutional Convention

The Second Constitutional Convention for New Illinois will be held at the Thelma Keller Convention Center, 1202 N. Keller Drive, Effingham, Illinois.

The Friday evening dinner will be followed by speakers:

• Southern Illinois Historian Mark Alan Motsinger, President of the Saline County Historical Society and Advisory Board Member of the Illinois State Historical Society
  
• Financial expert Ted Dabrowski, President of Wirepoints

Registration is from 3:30 - 5:30 PM, with a social hour starting at 5:00 PM.

Saturday morning will again feature Mr. Motsinger and Mr. Dabrowski and will include a question-and-answer time. A joint session of the New Illinois State Legislature will follow.  Marty Kelly, Chairman of the Finance Committee, will provide information on the financial feasibility of a new state. Dan Juffernbruch, Chairman of the Constitution Committee and New Illinois Senate Vice Chairman, will describe the progress made to date on the New Illinois State Constitution. Lunch will follow.  Saturday afternoon will be a working session for the New Illinois State Senate and Assembly.
