New Illinois: Third Constitutional Convention
The Third Constitutional Convention for New Illinois will be held at the Holiday Inn Quincy East, 4821 Oak Street, Quincy, Illinois.
Registration is from 3:00 – 4:15 and again at 5:00 – 5:45. Social hour from 5:45 – 6:30; VIP reception also from 5:45 – 6:30 PM.
The Friday evening dinner will be followed by speakers:
- David Shestokas, Former Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney and Author of Creating the Declaration of Independence and Constitutional Sound Bites
- Diane Benjamin, Government Watchdog and Publisher of BLN News
Saturday morning will again feature Ms. Benjamin and Mr. Shestokas. A joint session of the New Illinois State Legislature will follow. Marty Kelly, Chairman of the Finance Committee, will provide information on the financial feasibility of a new state. Dan Juffernbruch, Chairman of the Constitution Committee and New Illinois Senate Vice Chairman, will describe the progress made to date on the New Illinois State Constitution. Lunch will follow. Saturday afternoon will be a working session for the New Illinois State Senate and Assembly. During that time, Larry Mulch, Hancock County Committee Chairman, will host a discussion and answer questions about New Illinois.
