In collaboration with Perins School, New Leaf Alresford are hosting a screening of the film ‘Six Inches of Soil’, as part of Winchester Green Week activities - to celebrate and promote sustainable living.

The film tells the inspiring story of British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food - to heal the soil, benefit our health and provide for local communities.

It will be screened using new state of the art projection equipment in the Perins Main Hall followed by a discussion and Q&A session with a panel of local experts. The event will run from 19.00 - 21.30 on Monday the 23rd of September (doors at 18.30, film starts 19.00).

The panel will include:

The Stagecoach 64 bus service from Alton and Winchester runs to and from Alresford hourly, stopping in West Street - with last buses in both directions leaving Alresford at approximately 22.40. A single fare costs only £2. Free parking is also available in the Perins and Arlebury Park car parks.

We are pleased to say that local winemakers Candover Brook will be operating a bar at the event. This will be open both before and after the screening. We will also offer a soft drink as an alternative, but there won't be any food refreshments.

There will be a small number of the Six Inches of Soil book, alongside signed copies of Rooted, by local writer Sarah Langford, available to purchase.

Please follow signs and enter via the steps up to the Main Hall (level access is on the other side of the building for those who need it). Just give your name on entry, there is no need to print tickets.

Tickets are just £5 each. This covers the cost of screening the film, with anything remaining going towards future events organised by New Leaf Alresford.

Please note: This film is a documentary and suitable for older children, teenagers and adults, rating PG.
