A murmuration is a flock of birds moving together in constantly changing patterns, each responding to the others. Murmurator, featuring Randy Crafton, Lindsey Horner, and Rob Levin, brings that same interplay to their interpretations of film music.

Drawing on Rob's background in West African music, Lindsey's in Irish music, and Randy's in Middle Eastern music, along with their shared roots in jazz, Western classical music, and American improvised music, the trio moves freely between musical traditions and ideas, each musician shaping and responding to the others.

Familiar film themes take new directions, accompanied by silent montages from the films themselves. What stays with us from these films, their stories, images, and music, becomes the starting point for something new, as the trio brings fresh perspective and the spontaneity of improvisation to the emotional connections we already have with them.
