This event is a book release celebration for Dave Monette’s new book, The Calculus of Life: A Practical Guide to Transcendence. This book is a layman’s manual for experiencing expansive states of awareness through grounded meditation. Dave’s comprehensive approach allows anyone—even those new to mind-body practices—to easily access some of the magical creative flow that the famous musicians he works with experience at peak moments in performance. For some, this includes expansion into Source—the field of unlimited possibility known in various practices as Akasha, Dynamic Stillness, and the 5th Element.

Dave will give a multi-media introduction to his book, followed by a guided Raja yoga meditation he uses with his clients. Steinway Piano artist Randy Porter and his bass-playing colleague Patrick Golichnik, will then join in to demonstrate how expansive, multi-dimensional awareness helps them access higher states of creative impetus in small-group jazz performance! Dave and Randy will then take questions, and Dave will sign books for those attending.

Dave Monette is a trumpet maker, yoga and meditation teacher, and craniosacral therapist. His musical instruments, table sessions, and Raja yoga intensives attract clients from around the world. His holistic approach to resonance in and beyond the music world has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic, and in two national PBS television specials (1987 and 2015). He has given presentations to a variety of groups on four continents.
