Stay up to date with nut growing in New York and meet experienced growers!  

All are welcome to register to attend the New York Nut Growers Association 2025 Spring Meeting on April 26 in Tioga County. 

The main program will take place in the morning at the Inspire S-VE Community & Fitness Center, 57 East Tioga Street, Spencer, NY, 14883. Breakfast starts at 8:30 am, and the program begins at 9:00 am. Speakers will include Harry Greene (Propagate Ventures, an agroforestry asset management company focused on the integration of tree crops in broad-acre agriculture), Jesse Marksohn (Yellowbud Farm, yellowbud hickory oil processing, experimentation with a variety of nut genera, and collaboration with other researchers and CSAs), Laura Perkins (Horticulturalist at the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture), and Joshua Stone (soil analysis, Web of Life Regenerative Landcare). 

After lunch we will travel a few miles to Twisted Tree Farm, 279 Washburn Rd, Spencer, NY 14883 for a walking tour and discussion led by Akiva Silver. 

Participants are welcome to bring items related to nut growing or nut eating to sell or share. 

The New York Nut Growers Association is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that promotes nut tree growing in New York State. It's not necessary to be a member of the New York Nut Growers Association (NYNGA) to attend this meeting. A light breakfast and lunch are included in the cost of meeting registration, which is $20/member, $25/non-member. Pre-registration is required to facilitate meal planning and because the meeting is limited to 60 participants due to building occupancy limits. Pants, socks and comfortable walking shoes or boots are suggested for the afternoon walking tour. Please check the weather in advance and plan accordingly.

Signs announcing the meeting location will be placed about a quarter mile from the driveway entrance in both the east and west directions.
