This Machine Kills Wasps Festive Special with Hibbett & Christopher, Luke Rollason, and Jamie Mykaela

This Machine Kills Wasps’ beloved FESTIVE SPECIAL is on Thursday 3rd December at The Folklore Rooms, Brighton, and we have another SPLENDID lineup of alternative comedy and alternative music.

THE HOST

We are extremely excited to announce the return of Brighton legend Leslie Bloom to hosting duties. Leslie hosts her own monthly alternative comedy showcase at Brighton Playhouse, is single, and has a son that looks suspiciously like Kenneth Branagh.

THE MUSIC

Hibbett & Christopher is MJ Hibbett and Christopher Thorpe-Tracey (aka recovering pop star Chris T-T). A coming together of two indie titans, the guys are putting together an album of Hibbett tunes with Chris on backing vocals and piano accompaniment. We are THRILLED to have them back.

The Highchurches are This Machine Kills Wasps' house band. Expect ramshackle indie folk, sarcastic asides, and gorgeous harmonies.

THE MUSIC / COMEDY

Jamie Mykaela is a multi-disciplinary idiot from Australia. Her work combines ukulele-led songs, theatrical costumes, and chaotic, immersive stage presence with material that explores feminism, ambition, mental health, and pop-cultural satire.

THE COMEDY

Luke Rollason is a BAFTA-winning writer and actor, recognised for his BBC short Quiet Life. He is perhaps best known for his lead role across two seasons of Disney+'s Extraordinary, a performance that earned him a place in The Hollywood Reporter's Top 10 TV Performances of 2023. He's also our favourite clown pretty much of all time, for his varied and excellent solo shows and also his work with Stepdads, whose extraordinary "Les Mis" was the highlight of this year's Fringe season.

Timmy Niblets is a legendary disgraced comedian and entertainer, returning to the stage to put the rumours to bed. He is categorically not two children in a big coat.
