Common burnout patterns. Over-functioning to shutdown cycles. Sources of stress and overwhelm at work. Workload, autonomy and control. Protecting energy and rest patterns. Boundary setting. Identifying personal stress triggers. Prioritisation and practical ways to reduce pressure. Sources of support.
PARTICIPANTS
For staff members, volunteers, trustees or board members of charities, schools, healthcare or public sector organisations who are concerned about burnout at work and how to avoid it. People who provide advice to organisations are also welcome.
WORKSHOP FORMAT
This workshop will be delivered using Microsoft Teams. Participants can access the workshop using any standard web browser. The Teams meeting link will be sent by email the day before the workshop. The workshop is delivered as a structured talk supported by a small number of slides to highlight key ideas. Participants are not expected to introduce themselves or contribute unless they wish to. Short anonymous questions and reflection points are included during the session so participants can consider how the ideas apply to their own work. These can be submitted anonymously if preferred. The session focuses on explaining how burnout develops, the patterns that commonly lead to it, and how these pressures appear in everyday working situations. The aim is to provide practical insight and a small number of useful tools that participants can think about and use after the workshop.
