TOPICS COVERED

ADHD affects men and women differently. The workshop looks at ADHD from the perspective of women at work. In 2015 there were no employment tribunal judgments mentioning ADHD but by 2025 there were 91. The workshop covers recent tribunal decisions involving ADHD and examines key takeaways. The Access to Work scheme provides grants of up to £69,000 to support workplace needs of staff with ADHD. The workshop examines the distinction between reasonable adjustments and eligible costs, the application process and cost sharing obligations. ADHD work coaches can assist staff with ADHD. The workshop looks at finding and managing work coaches plus the relevant training and certification programmes.

PARTICIPANTS

For staff members, volunteers, trustees or board members of charities, schools, healthcare or public sector organisations who work with staff who have, or might have, ADHD. People who provide advice to organisations are also welcome. We recommend that participants attend the ADHD in the Workplace workshop before attending this advanced workshop.

WORKSHOP FORMAT

Workshops consist of talk, questions and answers. There are no power points, audio visuals, break out sessions, role playing exercises or group activities. Participants are not expected to introduce themselves. Workshops run better if participants are on video but it is not compulsory. Each workshop follows a script. By using scripts more topics can be covered in less time with complete accuracy. Participants are sent a copy of the script by email after the workshop. The trainer may add unscripted remarks during the workshop to liven things up. Workshops do not require prior knowledge. Everything is explained in everyday language. Jargon and acronyms are kept to a minimum.
