From Research to Reality: What The Generation Study means for paediatric care

The Generation Study is one of the largest genomic research programmes currently taking place at selected sites across England. Using whole genome sequencing as a screening test, the study aims to identify over 200 rare genetic conditions in newborn babies, to enable early treatment and hopefully improve outcomes. We are now starting to identify cases so it’s important that paediatric staff working at recruiting sites are aware of the study.

This 30-minute webinar is aimed at nurses, clinical nurse specialists, doctors and allied health professionals working in paediatric and neonatal care at recruiting sites across Central and South. We will cover:

  • Aims of the study
  • Difference between the Generation Study and current newborn screening programmes
  • How the study works in practice
  • The results process and the role of paediatrics

Please note this webinar is for NHS staff only and will be recorded.
