Diabetes is often stated to be a genetic disease, with certain types being specifically inherited and others being significantly influenced by genetic factors. To mark World Diabetes Day 2026, we're hosting a webinar on the genomics of diabetes.
Whilst diabetes is a well-known term, it covers a range of different conditions with differing symptoms and treatments. What's more, many individuals are misdiagnosed, and may actually have a different type of diabetes to the one they've received a diagnosis and ongoing treatment for. This can have a significant impact on the success of their treatment and therefore quality of life.
To raise awareness of the various genetic elements to diabetes, we're hosting this webinar to enable healthcare professionals to learn more about this subject and better improve the care they offer to their patients.
We'll hear from a panel of experts, who will cover topics including:
- Monogenic diabetes
- Rare diabetes
- Patient experience
This event is for healthcare professionals with an interest in genomics and diabetes, across primary, secondary, tertiary and community care settings.
If you'd like to attend but can't make this date, please do sign up and we will share the recording with you once complete, and if you've got any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
