The NHS Research Scotland (NRS) Ophthalmology and Scottish Eye Research and Innovation Meeting will be held on the 22nd November 2024 at the Stirling Court Hotel in Stirling. Since lunch will be provided, please provide any dietary requirements at registration. Presentation talks will commence at 09:30, but registration will be opened from 08:30 for networking, as well as teas and coffees. The agenda is almost finalised and confirmed talks are as follows:
The morning research session will be led by NRS Ophthalmology Specialty lead, Dr Andrew Tatham

- The cutting edge: genetics, stem cells and retinal regeneration – Roly Megaw , University of Edinburgh
- The SCONe Project – Claire Tochel University of Edinburgh
- Research Priorities in Ophthalmology – Professor Augusto Azuara-Blanco, Queen’s University Belfast
- Tear Proteomics in Retinopathy of Prematurity – Chloe Shipton, Winner of the Scottish Ophthalmology Trainee Research Award (SOTRA)
- Presentation of the NHS Research Scotland Thea Trainee Research Award 2024 – Andrew Tatham
- What is Mendelian randomisation and what can it tell us about eye diseases? – Andreas Katsimpris, South East Scotland Trainee
- Is glaucoma screening feasible? – Sarah Vez, Glaucoma Fellow, NHS Lothian
The afternoon innovation session will be led by Dr Iain Livingston , this session will include industry show and tell from the following 5 companies :
