Hosted by NHS Research Scotland and the Chief Scientist Office of Scottish Government, this event will showcase the strength and diversity of Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) across Scotland. 

The event is for PPI Partners, PPIE Professionals, Researchers (including Early Career Researchers) and Policymakers working in, and with an interest in, developing their PPI practice and activities. This event will offer an opportunity for sharing, networking and increase collaborative working in PPI across Scotland.

Please review the full programme before registering. During the registration process you will be asked to select your preferred workshop. The outline for the day is: 

09:30 – 10:00: Registration, Tea and Coffee

10.00 - 10:25: Plenary Session

10:25 - 11:25: Workshop 1 (review within the programme)

11:30 - 12:30: Workshop 2 (review within the programme)

12:30 - 13:30: Lunch

13:30 - 14:30: Workshop 3 (review within the programme)

14:30 - 14:50: Break

14:50 - 15:30: Workshop 4 (review within the programme)

15:30 – 16:00: Feedback, PPI Awards and Future Directions

We are also accepting nominations for two Patient and Public Involvement Awards

The PPI Newcomer Award is for researchers, public partners, or PPI leads at the start of their PPI journey. It recognises that taking the first steps into PPI can be daunting but the start of a productive journey between researchers and public contributors.

The PPI Impact award is for researchers, public partners, or PPI Leads who have demonstrated ongoing commitment to PPI. It recognises that supporting, delivering and sustaining PPI requires dedication but can deliver significant benefit and impact.

To be eligible, projects must have been either active or completed in 2022-24.

To nominate, please submit a 500-word (max) summary to communications@nrs.org.uk by 5pm on Tuesday 5 March. This should include

• The nomination category – Newcomer or Impact
• A description or examples of how the UK Standards for Public Involvement informed the way the public involvement was planned and managed
• Who was involved/who collaborated
• A description of the progress and achievements
• Evidence of the impact and difference made by the nominee

The Winners will be visible on websites and social media channels
