Patient and Public Involvement Event 2025
Patient and Public Involvement Event 2025
Need help?
Returning for a second year, the Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Event, hosted by NHS Research Scotland, will take place on Tuesday 11 March at Stirling Court Hotel.
PPI Partners, Professionals, Researchers, including Early Career Researchers, and Policymakers working in, and with an interest in, developing their PPI practice and activities are encouraged to attend.
Following a successful 2024 event, we are delighted to bring the community together in a larger venue, with an expanded programme providing improved interactivity, increased networking opportunities and a greater showcase of PPI projects across Scotland.
A diverse range of topics will be explored with six interactive workshops including: Ethical patient and public Involvement, Exploring convenient locations for clinical trials, Thinking about impact and evaluation, Using the arts to enhance patient and public involvement in research, Impact of reminiscence therapy on health and wellbeing, and Using storytelling and videos to explore lived experience perspectives in research. These sessions will last one hour and provide an in-depth exploration of the topic promoting knowledge transfer, skills development and collaborative learning among participants and workshop facilitators.
Complementing the workshops, a further 6 oral sessions will see multiple presenters come together to showcase projects and initiatives focused on: Working with underserved groups and communities, PPI for future health delivery, PPI in data science research, Involving children and young people, Involving people in potentially sensitive research, PPI in neurological research
Review the full programme before registering. During the registration process you will be asked to select your preferred workshop or oral session. A showcase of projects will also be available for viewing throughout the day via the Poster Showcase, with a dedicated session running after lunch.
A small fund to support public contributors to attend the event is available. This request can be made during the registration process.
