Talent Discovery Show (ex-competiton)

INTERNATIONAL ORIENTAL DANCE COMPETITION FOR REAL TALENTS!

This is a year of change, fresh ideas and exciting new projects!
This year, instead of the traditional competition, we are launching a new project: a talent show where you can enter and present creative work in different categories, as well as gain important support for your dance career, guidance, mentoring, etc.
We would like to encourage you to share your dance vision with the audience, alongside your technique, and with your help we want to free dance from the pressures of competition, numbers, sometimes difficult to understand expectations, and give wings to artistic creation.

In advance, we will give you 5 themes – guidelines and inspiration for your creation.

THEMES:

Experiment / Unforgettable / Winds of change / Folk fun /Joy of the moment

You are free to submit a video or live performance of your work based on the themes, interpreted in the language of Middle Eastern dance (any genre, any style).
The winners will be selected on the basis of creativity, artistic approach, technique and originality.

There will be awardees in each category, as technical awards for Professional, Amateur and Group participants.
Besides, there will be selected awardees by each Jury member, and a main award
“Talent of the Year” – who will receive the opportunity to teach and perform on the festival in 2024.

You can enter in solo amateur, solo professional and group categories.

AGAIN THIS YEAR THE NUMBER OF ENTRIES IS VERY LIMITED –
WE CAN ACCEPT 10 PARTICIPANTS PER CATEGORY.

NEW! ART PROJECTS ON THE FESTIVAL!

„BUDAPEST RAQS with Nesma and Mercedes”
This year we offer the possibility to take part of two different Choreography Art Projects on the festival: by Nesma and by Mercedes. Online casting, video learning, live rehearsals and group performance on the festival’s gala show – it will be a lots of inspiration.

„US PROJECT” for the Opening Show
Let us invite you to another artistic experience. Would you like to share your art on stage with other professional dancers and invited artists on our opening show this year? We’re planning a special project and you can be part of it too. The title is „US – Untold Stories”. If you feel you have a dance that matches the theme, you would like to perform it, and you’re opened to add to the creation process for the sake of the show, join the experiment! The show will be directed by Mercedes. You can sign up with any performance you wish to (groups welcomed too!), as long as it’s artistically following the theme. According to the dramaturgy, you might need to adapt your dance (transitions, beginning and ending) to the show’s theme.

Applying is free, you just have to be part of the festival (with minimum two Day Passes), be dedicated and flexible, open to group work and new ideas, and new artistic experiences!

1st payment: 150 EUR deposit by 10th March
2nd payment: 200 EUR (or all the remaining amount) by 10th April
3rd payment: remaining amount by 10th May or on the spot.
