World Heritage Walk – Become a Hospice Hero
The World Heritage Walk is a distinctive 13‑mile* journey through some of the most beautiful and historic landscapes in Llangollen and the Dee Valley. Following legendary towpaths and footpaths steeped in local heritage, this scenic adventure offers unforgettable views at every step.
Walking alongside fellow Nightingale House supporters, you’ll experience breath taking highlights including the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, Chirk Aqueduct, Trevor Basin, and the Chirk Tunnel, making this one of the most picturesque charity walks in North Wales.
As the hospice celebrates its Year of the Challenge, this much‑loved event provides an enjoyable and achievable experience for beginners, families, teams and dog‑walkers alike. It’s your chance to Become a Hospice Hero and make a meaningful difference to local families.
What’s Included
Your £10 registration fee includes:
- A route pack to guide your journey
- A finisher certificate to celebrate your achievement
- Children go free but must be accompanied by an adult
We encourage all participants to raise sponsorship and support hospice care. Every pound raised helps provide vital services to local families in need.
Dogs (on leads) are welcome, but all participants must be able to complete the full distance.
Event Day Details
Your adventure begins at Lion Quays near Oswestry, where free parking is available. From there, a complimentary shuttle service (thanks to Pats Coaches) will transport you to the Chainbridge Hotel in Llangollen, where your walk officially starts.
Expect a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, memorable scenic moments, and a truly rewarding day out.
Approx. 13 miles, taking around 4–5 hours.
