Step Up September

As part of our Year of the Challenge 2026, we are inviting you to join our brand-new virtual walking challenge throughout September.

Step up, set your goal, and walk your way, anytime, anywhere, throughout the month.

How It Works:

  • Register for just £10
  • Choose your challenge goal
  • Receive a Nightingale House challenge vest
  • Set and share your Just Giving page to raise a suggested £100 in sponsorship
  • Receive a certificate upon completion

Choose your Challenge Goal:

Walk 50 miles in honour of the average number of patients and carers we see in a month in our wellbeing programme, rehabilitation services, complementary therapy sessions, inpatient unit patient and referrals (professional or self-referral), that’s approximately 1.5 mile per day.

or

Walk the distance from Nightingale House Hospice to Barmouth and back, 114 miles. Our catchment area stretches from Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch. Barmouth beach is the furthest West point. 114 miles is approximately 3.5 miles a day.

Whether you choose to walk, jog or stroll, you can complete the challenge in your own time, throughout September, at your own pace, and wherever suits you – at home, in your local park, or on the school run!

You can share your achievement through our Facebook event page, where you can connect with other participants, share your progress, and stay motivated throughout the month.

Every step you take and every pound you raise will help provide compassionate care to local people when they need it most.

Your September Steps will have a lifelong impact.
