PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PEACE BE UPON HIM)
We have a special session for under 5s who may like to take part in some arts and craft
Join us at our Olive Tree Library Storytelling Cafe on January 20th, 2024, for a captivating exploration of the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) Night Journey and Heavenly Ascension. This unique event offers a golden opportunity to delve into the rich history of the blessed lands of Makkah and Palestine, unveiling the profound significance it holds in Islam.
Through engaging storytelling with our dear teacher Jumana Moon, we will unravel the miraculous journey of the Prophet Muhammad, gaining insights into the spiritual and historical dimensions of this momentous event. Delve into the details of the Night Journey and Heavenly Ascension, understand its symbolic significance, and appreciate the lessons it imparts to us today.
By coming together as a community, we aim to foster a deep understanding of our dear Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the importance of preserving the historical narratives that shape our faith. Join us on this enlightening evening to strengthen the bonds of our community, learn about the sacred history of Palestine, and draw inspiration from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Let us unite in the spirit of seeking knowledge for the sake of Allah, respect, and unity as we commemorate this significant aspect of our Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) life.
HOW MUCH? Free SATURDAY SESSION
WHEN? 1pm - 3.10pm (AFTER ZUHR JAMA'AT)
1.30pm - 2.05pm - session for 5- 9 year olds
2.10pm - 3.10pm - session for 10 years and over, and adults
2.10pm - 3.10pm - arts and crafts for under 5s
WHO? Adults & children from 0 to 16 years. This month the story sessions will be for everyone with breaks for refreshments.
Please note all children must be accompanied by adults and the adult should support the child/ren during any arts and crafts/discussions outside of the workshop times. It is hoped that this library is a space to grow closer as families and as a community. Older children will also have an opportunity for discussions in groups.
Come along and explore our rich heritage of Islamic stories from the Qur'an, Seerah and other tales whilst enjoying something from our pop-up cafe.

If you can, we encourage families to bring something sweet or savoury to share at our community cafe. There will be free hot drinks for all.

With Jumana Moon
Jumana Moon is storyteller with a special interest in stories from Islamic tradition. She is the founder of the Hud Hud Storytelling School.
Jumana now tells in schools, universities, museums, festivals and at a range of cultural and community events. She has also been involved in a series for British Muslim TV called ‘Legend Has It’, exploring storytelling in Islamic tradition. Jumana co-runs ‘Stowtellers’ storytelling club in east London with Mike Forbes. She believes that stories and creativity are essential for our lives and communities, for both adults & children. Jumana also works as a child psychotherapist in a primary school.
