About your tutor: Ernie Butler
Ernie Butler is an internationally exhibited and collected artist based in Elsworth, Cambridgeshire. He trained under William Calladine, who was apprenticed to the old master Johannes Hendrik 'Jan' Eversen, and has spent his career mastering the techniques of the old masters – including studying the work of Turner, Constable, and Caravaggio.
His own artwork displays a distinctive sense of light and atmosphere, and his work is held in international collections. He has exhibited widely, including solo shows in Chelsea and Venice, and has been commissioned by Arts Council England for national touring exhibitions.
As a tutor, Ernie brings decades of experience. He holds regular evening classes and runs bespoke workshops, offering individual guidance and encouragement to help you learn at your own pace.
