Haunted Halsted Costume Contest

Be a part of the 30th Annual Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade! Every year over 500 spirted costumes compete for over $4,000 in cash prizes in 5 categories, this year it could be you!

This year, to help streamline the check-in process, you can pick up your number bib during the Haunted Halsted Fest (Haunted Halsted Fest will take place from Cornelia to Aldine starting at 11am) . There will be a check in booth located with in the Fest footprint, where you will scan your QR code "ticket". Make sure to wear your number bib in a prominent manner before and during the parade.

Each $5 Entry fee guarentees a single particpation in the Haunted Halsted Costume Contest and access to the Ferrara Candy Station during The Haunted Halsted Fest. Each person in your group must have a "ticket" in order to receive a number bib for the contest. If capacity allows, you may be add addtional particpants to your group when you check-in onsite. 

YOU MUST RETRIEVE YOUR COSTUME NUMBER BEFORE 6PM TO GUARANTEE ENTRY TO THE COSTUME CONTEST. Late entries may not be accepted due to capacity. 

• Check In Location: Halsted & Belmont 2pm-6:15pm
• Parade Line Up: 6pm-7pm
• Parade Start at: 7:00pm, proceeds north to The U-Park it Lot- 3514 N. Halsted (near Brompton)
• Awards Show at 8:30pm: U-Park it Lot- 3514 N. Halsted (contestants must be present to win)
• You may change your category at check in BEFORE issued a bib number
• Parade will go on despite weather conditions; there will not be a rain date

Ticket refund requests honored through 11:59 pm Thursday, Oct 29th. No refund requests accepted after that date.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I pick up a number on behalf of someone else? 
Yes, as long as you have a QR code to scan, you can pick up the number bibs of everyone in your group, or another participant that might be running late. 

How can I add new people to my group after my initail registration?
Before Oct. 31st you can pay for additional registration, then email info@northalsted.com letting us know which group the additoinal registration should be added to.
On Oct. 31st you can add additional people when you go to on-site check-in. There is maximum of 20 people per group entry.

I will not be onsite until after 6:15pm, can I still participate? 
There will be limited late check in availabe after 6:15pm, but it may be cut off with no warning. The only way to gaurentee particiaption is to check-in and retrieve your number bib before 6:15pm. All particiants must be in their designated costume staging zone by 6:45pm. 

What is the Ferrara Candy Station?
During the Haunted Halsted Fest, we will have a 20ft candy station courtesy of our sponsor Ferrara! The candy Station will feature some of your favorites like Nerds Gummy Clusters, Laffy Taffy, SweeTARTS Ropes, and more! Every paid costume contest entry will receive a bag to fill to their heart’s content!

Can I walk in the parade with out particiapting in the costume contest?
Yes, you will just register (on-site) to walk in the parade and ill be given a non-content participation bib to wear.
