βπ½ STAND TOGETHER AGAINST THE FAR RIGHT β NORTHAMPTON
The Unity Rally Against Racism, organised by Northamptonshire Stand Up To Racism is on Saturday 17th October 2026 -
Northampton residents, community organisations, trade unionists and anyone who believes in equality are encouraged to come along and stand in solidarity
Across the country we have seen a renewed attempt by the far right to divide our communities and turn migrants, refugees and people from minority communities into scapegoats.
From the far-right riot in Southampton following the tragic death of Henry Nowak, to the racist pogrom in Belfast, where migrant families were targeted, and the intimidation and targeting of refugees in Thetford, we have seen how quickly racist mobilisation can threaten our communities.
Figures including Nigel Farage, Rupert Lowe and fascist Tommy Robinson have been prominent in promoting and amplifying this politics of division.
But there is another story β one of solidarity and resistance.
Local communities have played a central role in building mass anti-racist responses in Belfast, Glasgow, Sheffield, Brighton and elsewhere. Working people have shown that we will not allow the far right to set community against community.
And as we approach National Hate Crime Awareness Week, 10β17 October 2026, it is more important than ever that we stand together against racism, hate and intimidation.
Farage has even called on trade unionists to support Reform UK.
Our answer should be clear:
Trade unions have no interest in backing Reform UK β a pro-bosses, pro-privatisation party that seeks to divide working people rather than unite us.
The trade union movement was built on the principle that an injury to one is an injury to all.
We will not allow the far right to divide working-class communities on the basis of race, religion, migration status or nationality.
βπ½ This is about unity.
Unity between workers.
Unity between communities.
Unity against racism.
Unity against the far right.
We encourage everyone to join the Northamptonshire Unity Rally Against RacismΒ on Saturday 17 October and make sure Northamptonshire sends a strong message that racism and fascism have no place in our communities.
Stand together. Stand up to racism. Defend our communities. βπ½
