Fishing Taster Day

Northampton Nene Angling Club in partnership with NAYC are offering a great opportunity for young people to experience fishing in a pleasant and safe environment. 

Open to NAYC Affiliated youth clubs and young people in Northamptonshire aged 6 years to 18 years

All equipment required to fish is included. All our coaches are qualified, licenced and DBS checked.

There are 3 Fishing Taster Days at different venues so please ensure you check the date and venue when making your booking.

Thursday 31^st October at Abington Park Lake, Abington Park, Northampton, NN1 5LW

The Participation times are a 1 hour session between 9.30am to 4.00pm (3pm being the last session that will end at 4.00pm) The cost is only £5.50 per participant. We are thankful to the Angling Trust’s Get Fishing fund for supporting this project.

There are 6 participants permitted per 1 hour session and you can book tickets for any of the following session times:

Session 1:  9.30am to 10.30am

Session 2: 10.30am to 11.30am

Session3: 11.30am to 12.30pm

Session 4: 1.00pm to 2.00pm

Session 5: 2.00pm to 3.00pm

Session 6: 3.00pm to 4.00pm

Important Notes

Please arrive 10 minutes before your taster session starts.

Parking is off-road for the Fishing Taster event at the Abington Park location. There are car parks at the other locations.

Note that off road parking not available at the Grendon Fishing Taster Day (21 Feb 2025)

The age limit for each event will be 6 years and above.

Please come prepared for all weather conditions and we suggest taking along a drink.

On the day we ask participants to complete a registration form for The Angling Trust that is used at all taster sessions to see how many people have fished and is used by NNAC to obtain a waiver for the usual rod licence requirement. So you do not need to have a rod licence to participate in these events.
