Objectives
• To understand the definitions of Hate Crime & Incidents
• To encourage reporting, recording and investigations
• To provide information on the context in which hate incidents occur (Case studies)
• To raise awareness of the resources available to enhance community and individual ability to deal effectively with Hate Crimes & Incidents (Agency collaboration and tools of resilience)
In your personal or professional life, you may witness or experience acts of hostility or violence targeted at individuals because of their identity—or how others perceive them. These are known as Hate Crimes and Hate Incidents.
Sadly, public expressions of hate and division are becoming more visible. That’s why we’re updating our training package with a stronger focus on anti-Muslim hate—a growing concern in many communities.
Even if you’ve attended our sessions before, this new content offers fresh insights and practical tools to support those affected and help build safer, more inclusive spaces.
Hate hurts. It impacts individuals, families, and entire communities.
