This initiative is part of NAMCC commitment to the welfare of its community members. Inshallah this will be a series covering various mental health awareness topics for different segments of our community.
This will be atleast once a month program, scheduled every third Saturday of the month. If we have more than one session then it will be communicated.

Topic: Helping Your Loved Ones During Emotional Distress: What to Say & What not to Say
Sister Najeeha Khan, MS, LPC-Associate received her Master's in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and moved to Austin, TX in the summer of 2020. She's had experience working with survivors of trauma, racial/ethnic identity development, anxiety, depression, life transitions, college students, career exploration, and more. Currently, Sister Najeeha works with Austin Counseling + Nutrition, where she provides psychotherapy to a diverse range of folks. Sister Najeeha specializes in disordered eating, body image concerns, self-esteem, ethnic minorities, mood disorders, and general life stressors. She also integrates Islamic ideologies of healing into sessions with Muslim clients, and aims to focus on clients' relationships with themselves, with others, and with their environment.
