Prevent is about safeguarding individuals from being drawn into terrorism, ensuring those susceptible to extremist and terrorist narratives are given appropriate advice and support at an early stage. Prevent is no different to any other form of safeguarding.
This event will expand and grow your knowledge regarding the different elements that feed into Prevent. We have a variety of speakers on a range of topics all linked to Prevent ranging from the links between Prevent and Autism to someone who was injured in the Manchester Arena bombing,
The online event will be held on Thursday 10th October 2024 and will be hosted online
via Microsoft Teams. It will start at 9.30am and be a half day event.
The programme for the event is as follows
- Counter terrorism police briefing including the regional picture for Humberside and the North East.
- A really thought provoking and enlightening presentation regarding Prevent and Autism
- Paul's story, a survivor of the Manchester Arena bombing
- A presentation regarding Prevent referrals, what information to include and what a good referral looks like
This should be a genuinely engaging and informative event. If you have any questions please contact victoria.henley@nelincs.gov.uk
