EU citizens in the UK who have been here since before 1989 and opted for getting a biometric residence permit (BRP) under the Windrush scheme instead of EUSS are now having to apply for an eVisa. They, and the almost 4 million migrants who have been issued BRPs since 2008, plus everyone who was given status before 2008, will have to prove their rights to work and rent via an online system as of 1 January 2025. Even refugees who were granted asylum as recently as last month have to register online again. The Home Office is currently redrafting the code of practice and introducing penalties  for not keeping the eVisa (online digital status) updated, but it is not publicising this to anyone, not even the grant-funded organisations helping people setting up eVisa accounts right now.

NB to avoid disruption of the meeting ('Zoom bombing') a link to the Zoom seminar will only be put up on the day it takes places. Just follow the link in the 'ticket' email to find the Zoom link.
