Resilience Talk and Tour

North Leitrim Sustainable Energy Community (NLSEC) is holding an event to highlight the need for community energy resilience and self-reliance.

The day will begin at 11am with an address and open discussion led by Jennie C. Stephens, professor of climate justice at Maynooth University jenniestephens.com Jennie is a feminist climate justice scholar-activist working on transformation toward more just and healthy futures for all. She studies corporate power, is a columnist for The Irish Times and is co-convenor of the Climate Justice Universities Union

The discussion will be followed by a light lunch, after which we will embark by bus to visit a number of working examples of sustainable housing and micro-generation, concluding with a presentation on “Mesh”, a local communications network that is completely independent of commercial communications providers and their networks and systems.

Tickets for the day, including lunch and bus transport are €50. Participants must book in advance.

Places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
