The Life of the Buddha

 Tuesdays 14 - 28 July | 7pm - 9.15pm

The figure of the Buddha represents the ideal of Enlightenment—the awakened state that serves as the ultimate goal of the spiritual life. However, the Buddha is not merely a static image or a historical relic; he is the heart of a story that reveals the very nature of the spiritual quest.

The traditional biography of the Buddha is rich with incidents carrying deep symbolic resonance. Whether historically accurate or mythological, these episodes bring fundamental truths to life in a vivid, concrete way. To truly understand what the figure of the Buddha represents, we must first appreciate the meaning behind his life story.

By engaging with the stories, we move beyond the "biography" and begin to see the Buddha's life as a mirror for our own potential for Awakening.
Each session begins with a period of guided meditation to help you arrive, settle, and connect more deeply with the material. In the second half, we’ll explore the life of the Buddha in a clear, practical, and down-to-earth way, with space for questions and discussion.
